Shark fishing from metropolitan jetties

The community is very concerned about shark baiting and fishing from metropolitan beaches. Recently four Bronze Whaler Sharks were hauled onto the beach in full view of the public (including children). World-recognised marine scientist Dr Scoresby Shepherd warns that shark baiting attracts sharks in our marine waters and should be stopped immediately.

Jet skis

Reclaim the beach - stop the jet ski menace
The increasing use of jet skis on the metropolitan coastline is damaging the quality of life, health and safety for everyone spending time on or near our beaches. The noise, fumes and pollution from these vehicles can mar the peaceful enjoyment of beach goers. Even more alarmingly, many of the users flout marine safety and council regulations by speeding near swimmers, canoists, jettys and the beach, and by landing and leaving from our beaches.
Do you find jet skis a menace? You can do something about it by letting authorities know when jet skiers are in the area and breaking the rules.
