Climate Concerns

FlashMob at Henley Square - Monday 21st September 2009

Sign a binding treaty NOW to stop a climate change disaster

The AVAAZ people organised a whole series of flashmob events (where hundreds of people suddenly turn up at a spot virtually unannounced) around the world on Monday 21st September and one was held at Henley Square at 12:18pm, thanks to the efforts of Paul Laris.

It was a shocker of a day, with howling wind and buckets of water but about 30 brave souls and a dog turned out for a short march to Paul Caica's office and several of the Restaurants. Most wore blue and we marched to the bongo drumming of Richard Smith and the piercing whistle of Jim Douglas. Here are some photos of the event as recorded by Fernando:

Climate Change Rally - Sat 13th June

A Climate Change rally is scheduled for Saturday, 13 June, starting at 11am at Victoria Square being organised by CleanSA (cleansa.org.au) as part of a national campaign, with simultaneous rallies in 8 cities.

Our march will be from Vic Sq to Rymill Park. The clock is ticking and nothing is happening but a lot of talk, and that won't help. Numbers count. They are the only thing that makes an impact on television, and television rules our consciousness. Please get our there with your kids, your friends, your rellies, your pets --whoever you can drag along. It's too important.
